Istrian cuisine

It is the best to try it than to read about it.  Turbulent history influenced the formation of a specific cuisine, which makes it richer, more diverse and delicious. First of all we need to emphasize to you here that you will enjoy sea food specialties as well as the continental (internal) Istria specialties, enjoy the fish and meat.

Istrian cuisine is characterized by the use of spice herbs (basil, thyme, sage, rosemary, laurel, mint, lemon balm, etc), and the grass you will find in every garden. It is unique by the dishes made from wild plants, plants that are found in nature and these are seasonal dishes. But let’s start from begining. Here we will try to enumerate all the dishes and define different times in the year when you can taste them.

Wherever you go, will offer you the Istrian ham. Istrian ham and specific method for preparing, aromatic and maturation. We dare to say that it is unique in the world.
