This exquisite church is located close to the park's center. Once inside, you are greeted by a breathtakingly beautiful carved ceiling adorned with gold and red accents. Despite its small size, the altar stands out as you enter the church. The building itself is charmingly situated in a picturesque setting. Church of St. John the Baptist
The Church of St. John, originally known as the Church of St. Trinity, is situated in one of the most prominent city squares. During the 15th century, the church became affiliated with the fraternity of St. John, leading to its new name. This distinguished 14th-century structure is renowned for its balustrade staircase on the side facing the street. It is believed to be the creation of the famed Sibenik builder, Ivan Pribislavic. The balustrade features a series of relief angels' heads at the top, while a heavily worn lion stands guard at the bottom. The church's four-story bell tower houses the town's oldest mechanical clock. The clock face is adorned with Roman numerals and a single hour hand. It was brought from Drnis during the Cretan War and installed into the clock. Unfortunately, the dome of the bell tower had to be removed in 1862 due to a powerful earthquake. Adjacent to the bell tower, there is a Renaissance window created by Niccolò di Giovanni Fiorentino. Above the window, there is a relief of a lamb, with an angel positioned beneath it, with its wings spread open. This masterpiece showcases the brilliance of the Dalmatian Renaissance. Regrettably, the church was closed during our visit, preventing us from experiencing its interior.

Channel-Harbour in Sibenik
As we approached by sea on a small cruiser, we were greeted by the sight of a mighty fortress guarding the entrance to the narrow channel. Along the way, we passed captivating rock formations and caves before finally entering the harbor. It was an awe-inspiring experience, and it became clear why any potential attackers would have been unsuccessful in their attempts to breach its defenses.

St. John's Fortress
The views from the Fortress are absolutely breathtaking. However, I would highly recommend taking the roadway to the fortress instead of the unmade path, as it can be quite challenging for those with limited mobility. Once you reach the fortress, you'll be rewarded with a stunning panoramic view of Sibenik and the surrounding islands. There are newly constructed toilets available, which were impeccably clean. Additionally, there is a charming little cafe that serves incredible iced coffee. Two members of our group even described it as the best they had ever tasted. I must also mention the exceptional assistance we received from Senka, the lady at the entrance booth. She not only provided us with valuable local knowledge about Sibenik, but also recommended some great restaurants and cafes to visit.

Monastery of Krapanj
This monastery is an intriguing and worthwhile sight to explore. It is renowned for being located on a tiny island with a sparse population and an elevation of less than two meters above sea level. To reach the island, you can either take a taxi boat from Brodarica or simply approach any local individual with a boat and kindly ask for a ride to the monastery (which most people would gladly provide).
