What a stunning little island! The Franciscan monastery is a must-see and it's delightful to wander around. However, the main attraction is definitely feeding the wild deer. Be sure to bring some apples, break them into pieces, and don't be surprised when they all come charging towards you! A helpful tip: wait until the excitement dies down after the taxi boat drops you off before approaching the deer. Once you find a couple, you can feed them by hand. They are incredibly gentle and beautiful creatures. The restaurant on the island has friendly staff and the water is absolutely amazing. Just keep in mind not to have high expectations. This island is perfect for feeding deer, going on a little hike, and swimming in the stunning and pristine waters. If you have some extra money to spare, I highly recommend visiting this island and then heading to Vrnik for lunch at the arts club. The menu there is a bit peculiar as the main courses are quite expensive, but the items listed as starters can actually be enjoyed as main meals as well. I cannot recommend the asparagus carbonara enough. It's a truly delicious dish that includes pancetta and can satisfy anyone's appetite.

Old Village Humac
User reviews
There are many ruins in Humac, but also a few renovated houses and a konoba (restaurant). One can enjoy the pure Dalmatian stone architecture without any ugly houses that have ruined most of the Croatian coast nowadays. If you want to skip the text below and enjoy the silence, there are many paths and places in the village and its surroundings to just stop, smell the nature, and see the great views. You can walk to the telescope (make sure to have some 5 HRK coins to activate it) and look towards Korcula, Scedro, Susac, and Vis islands. On the east, you will also see the big Peljasac peninsula, and on the north, Brac island, Biokovo, and Mosor mountains. It's a view to remember. In my opinion, there are even better views on the path towards the Grapceva spilja, but one should see both. There is a dirt road (great for cycling) on the top, leading to the village of Pitve and then to Vrisnik, where most of the owners of the properties in Humac live. Instead of going north, you can also go to Zavala on the other side of the island of Hvar using this road. There are many possibilities for starting and ending your cycling trip. As written on the table at the entrance, visits to Grapceva spilja (cave) are on Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday at 9am. Please check with the local agencies in nearby towns of Vrboska and Jelsa to confirm if this information is still correct.

Sit back, relax, and indulge in the breathtaking scenery. This spot offers a prime location right by the water, allowing you to admire the picturesque square in its entirety. During our visit, we opted for coffee (I chose the refreshing iced version) and savored the peaceful ambiance following our climb to the Fortress. Despite the moderate crowd, the staff did not rush us to leave and extended a warm welcome.
