I had a fantastic day out here! We purchased our tickets at the ticket office at the harbor on the same day. The island itself is absolutely stunning. There were plenty of people enjoying the sun and taking a dip in the water, but we decided to explore the various trails and visit all the points of interest marked on the map. I must admit that some of the points of interest weren't as captivating as I had hoped. Additionally, the trails on the northern side of the island were quite rough and steep. However, despite these challenges, the walk itself was incredibly beautiful. We treated ourselves to a delicious lunch at the restaurant near the monastery, and later indulged in some ice cream at the cocktail bar near the Dead Sea.

The Elaphite islands consist of three charming and picturesque destinations. It is worth noting that two of these islands are entirely vehicle-free, while the third only has a minimal number of vehicles. While it may be known for its luxurious experiences, it is still possible to explore this picturesque city on a budget. By following these money-saving tips, you can have an incredible Dubrovnik experience without breaking the bank.

1. Visit during the off-peak season

If you want to save money, consider visiting Dubrovnik during the off-peak season, which is typically from November to March. During this time, accommodation prices drop significantly, and you can find great deals on flights. Additionally, the city is less crowded, allowing you to explore its attractions more peacefully.

2. Look for affordable accommodations

While there are plenty of high-end hotels in Dubrovnik, there are also budget-friendly options available. Consider staying in guesthouses or apartments, which are often cheaper than hotels. Additionally, look for accommodations outside the city walls, as these tend to be more affordable while still providing easy access to the main attractions.

Take a stroll along the famous city walls, wander through the narrow streets of the Old Town, and enjoy breathtaking views of the Adriatic Sea without spending a dime.

4. Enjoy affordable local cuisine

Indulge in delicious Croatian cuisine without breaking your budget. Look for local eateries and street food stalls where you can try traditional dishes like cevapi (grilled meat), burek (pastry filled with meat or cheese), and seafood caught fresh from the Adriatic Sea. Avoid dining in touristy areas, as prices tend to be higher there.

5. Take advantage of free attractions

Dubrovnik offers several free attractions that should not be missed. Visit the stunning Dubrovnik Cathedral, explore the Rector's Palace, and take a walk through the picturesque Lokrum Island. You can also enjoy the breathtaking views of the city from Mount Srd, accessible by foot or cable car.
